Put yourself first

 Understanding you!

Putting yourself first can be very hard, throughout my life I have often thought of how an action I do can affect the other person before it affects me and I have found that people take this to their advantage knowing how I am going to react.

In friendship groups I have often been pushed to the side and been an easy person to blame because I can easily convince myself that I am at fault. When in many circumstances I will then talk it over with my parents (often my mum) and realise that what happening is really unfair to me. 

In situations like this you the realise that you are surrounded my the WRONG people. If you are getting yourself into situations where the people you give your time to are making you feel anxious and upset them it's time to move on.

This is also key when you are in a situation that can trigger and negative response, if going out or going somewhere is making you feel anxious try to look deeper into it and see what it is that's making you feel that way, is it something that you can work on.

A way to think about things that make you anxious is by going "is it something I can actively change?" If the answer is no then it's not down to you to worry about it. 

This is not easy, I know first hand this is not easy but as time goes on and if you think this way and you can lower your anxiety even by 1% then that's a step in the right direction. 

For lots of people putting yourself first isn't second nature and they find it difficult. When you get on a aeroplane one of the things you are told is "male sure your oxygen mask is on first before helping those around you" you would think of this as an obvious thing to do, so why not put it into your own life. Help yourself first because you are what matters most in your own life. 

I don't know why but for this blog post I was really stuck for ideas as to what to write about putting yourself first, I think that alone shows you how much of an issue it is for me to do and how much people can struggle with it.
